I've had a bit of experience editing on tablets, both Android and iPad... it's pretty decent for light work, but if you're looking to do anything heavy-duty or professional-grade, it's not quite there yet
They are generally stable and smooth, but they're not on the same level as desktop software, if you're doing simple edits, like photos or videos, you can definitely get by, especially with high-end iPads that have a lot of power. Android tablets can also be good, but I feel like iPads tend to have a more polished editing experience overall 
it's worth it if you're on the go or need something portable, but for serious, long sessions or complex projects, a computer is still the better option
